Identifying the Variables that Drive Shelf Standout

Marketers can leverage the power of packaging by increasing their brand’s shelf standout, the degree to which shoppers notice their brand’s packaging on the retail shelf. In order to increase shelf standout, the variables that drive standout must be identified. Ipsos Insight conducted proprietary R&D to uncover the driving forces behind shelf standout. Specifically, our R&D focused on the effects of marketing presence and package design variables on standout. This paper discusses the results of our research along with their marketing implications.
